Mud Bench Inspiration
Hi everyone!
I don’t know about you but I’m obsessed with a good mud bench design. I personally always include them in my own home renovation and new build projects. A well designed mud bench serves a multi-purpose when it comes to storage. It’s great for storing shoes as you enter your home so you don’t track dirt around the house and it’s great to use for extra storage of coats, scarves, book-bags, hats, and handbags. The best part about a mud bench is that it keeps things organized and uncluttered. It’s also super fun to design a mud bench that fits your personal style and needs. Today I’m sharing four mud bench ideas that I love for you to use as inspiration with your own home renovation or new build project. I know just about everyone needs a place to store shoes, book-bags, purses, and coats!
#1 This is a recent mud bench that I built for one of my projects. I mixed white oak in a chevron pattern for the back wall with Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black poplar. I added some coat hooks and built-in tons of storage cabinets around the bench. I love the way it turned out!
#2 I love this simple space saving mud bench. It has a great organic feel to it with the natural maple wood and I am loving the glass door and drawer fronts!
#3 What a fun pop of color for the laundry room and the mud bench! I love the way they made such good use of space.
#4 Entryways are a good place to build a mud bench if you have wide hallways and extra space to use. This deep grey paint color is pretty gorgeous too.
#5 I love how bright and white this mud bench is! The baskets are such a nice touch and it reminds me of the Hamptons. Adding tall storage cabinets for your bench is also a great place to store a broom or vacuum cleaner.
Overall, a mud bench can be designed many different ways depending on your needs and space. They make a great DIY project too and there’s a lot of great tutorials on how to make one online so give it a go! I’d love hear which one of these is your favorite and why. And if this post inspires you to design and build one of your own, please send me photos and be sure to tag me on Instagram. I can’t wait! 🙂
