2024 Kitchen Design Trends

My Valley Project Kitchen-Warm white oak Cabinets mixed with fluting for texture. The Island Slab is Macchia Vecchia Porcelain.

Happy New Year! I couldn’t think of a better way to start off the new year than jumping right into one of my favorites spaces to design in the home, the Kitchen. Oh, and of course to fill you in on the top kitchen design trends in 2024 to keep your eye on.

Kitchens have always been a focal point in home design, and the current trends are shaping them to be more inviting and expressive than ever. The shift away from the all-white kitchen craze is refreshing—out with the white shaker cabinets and subway tiles! The new wave favors medium to darker wood grain tones, incorporating textural wood elements like micro fluting and contrasting cabinets. The emerging color palette is an array of rich saturated tones such as burgundy, teal

The emerging color palette is an array of rich saturated tones like burgundy, teal, and terracotta, alongside soft muted earthy tones such as cream, beige, taupe, and various shades of blue, peach, and green. Countertops are becoming dramatic focal points, featuring warm, rich hues in caramel, garnet, black, and even lilac.

Materials like Travertine are back, Porcelain tile continue evolve and perfect, and Terrazzo is still going strong. The 3D tile designs and tile technology is just astounding turning tile in a true work of art for your walls. Patterns are bold, some are soft, and anyway you look at it the possibilities of what you can create are endless!

Countertops have become a focal point in today’s kitchen. In 2024 you can expect rich, warm and earthy cabinetry wood tones which I love! Kitchen cabinet styles are embracing simplicity with modern slab doors, slim shaker doors, or a blend of traditional and modern—a refreshing change from the past decade!

Warm beige’s and creamy off-whites are taking over the space once dominated by white, adding comfort and warmth to kitchen environments. Moreover, hoods have evolved into statement pieces, with innovative designs and the use of various materials like stone, porcelain, wood, metal, and plaster combined with simplistic and sometimes oversized shapes showcasing their uniqueness.

A recent visit to the Cersaie show in Italy unveiled numerous warm, inviting, and expressive trends that felt like true works of art. From plumbing and hardware to lighting fixtures, modern and contemporary styling takes precedence, featuring elements like gunmetal, warm toned gold, natural wood, Rose gold, stainless steel, and vintage looks such as crystal and glass.

2024 Kitchen trends are a designer’s dream. Now let’s have some fun with it!
